The vision of our College is to impart literacy to students of economically backward rural area and weaker sections of the society. The mission of the College is to improve the lives of rural girls and to make them women graduates as agents for social change. It has been playing its role by attracting girl students from traditional poor family background in which girls are denied higher education.

Our College has a separate Entrepreneurship Development Cell, which was started in the year 2013 by the former principal Dr.C.Vijayambika and the EDC Cell  was inaugurated by the Executive Engineer Mr.S.Edwin Sam ofTamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board-Tirunelveli Division .The TNSCB has offered  various courses  and the same have been conducted for the slum women belonging to below poverty and also to our regular college going students.The Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board will provide vocational training to slum-dwellers, which will help them to learn or upgrade their skills, or train to be self-employed.

EDC Cell andthe community development (CD) wing of the TNSCB will jointly screen the applicants based on their ability. Depending on the course, the applicants should possess various qualifications such as completed eighth, tenth or plus two classes.Through this various programmes such as  E-commerce, Tally, Tailoring and Fashion technology etc have been conducted in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board Tirunelveli Division with a stipend of Rs500/-  to 750/- per month.

The duration of the course are normally three months. Through this sponsoring   programme totally190 candidateshave been benefitted so far.Most of the trainees under Tailoring and Fashion Technology is earning income through self-employment. The stipend amount is increased from Rs 500/- to   Rs 750/- in the year 2016-2017 onwards.  For the trainees the certificates signed by the principal and the Chairman of TNSCB Chennaiare issued.Through this sponsoring   programme totally190 Tirunelveli slum female candidates have been benefitted. Apart from this, the EDC has also conducted three months tailoring course at Rs 350/- and Fashion Technology at Rs 550/-for regular students through this Cell. The fees collected from regular students is utilised for the instructor’s salary and course completion certificate. Nearly524 students have completed so far as regular students of our EDC Cell.
